Zhejiang seeks to lure more experts from overseas

When a Zhejiang province Investment and Trade Symposium took place in the capital city, Ningbo, from June 8 to 12, hosting it and related activities were provincial and city human resources and social security departments who were interested in finding talented personnel from overseas.

The activities included project matchmaking and field visits for representatives of foreign organizations, with 25 delegates from 17 countries, such as Germany, France, Russia, Japan, and Israel, taking part and meeting with Xiong Jianping, vice-governor of Zhejiang, on June 8.

This was the 16th year that the province has combined its investment search with hiring, showing the emphasis it puts on talented personnel.

There were more than 400 employment projects for matchmaking, available on June 9, from at least 100 Zhejiang companies and institutions, covering the marine economy, modern agriculture, sewage treatment, services, facilities manufacturing, and key scientific research disciplines.

Afterwards, the representatives visited cities related to the projects. The investment and trade fair has a wide-reaching influence and has become a crucial way for the province to hire talented people and push economic development, since 1999.

Thanks to the fair, Zhejiang has established cooperation with nearly 100 economic, technological, and educational organizations globally that send specialists to Zhejiang every year. In all, 4,800 foreign experts helped deal with 5,800 problems, making a huge contribution to the province’s economy.
