Optimizing examination and approval procedures, one-stop service, impunity for first-time minor violation … the Provincial Fire Brigade made 9 public promises on July 21st to improve people’s sense of security and satisfaction with fire prevention.

The reporter learned that 4 of the 9 promises are related to examination and approval procedures. In order to optimize the procedures, the processing times for the examination and verification of fire prevention design (design filing), inspection (inspection filing) and pre-opening safety inspection will all be shortened by over 30% on the previous legal basis. All the administrative authority of the fire-prevention examination and approval of construction projects will be transferred to the public security and fire-prevention brigades at the county (city, district) level to bring convenience to the public. The processing time for fire prevention design and inspection will be 14 working days, 6 days less than the previous 20 working days. The provincial brigade will further reduce the number of materials needed for the declaration, examination and approval of “small and minor projects”, i.e., the planar graph verified by the unit concerned may replace the drawings of fire-prevention design and the project completion.
