Wang Huizhong, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee and Secretary of the CPC Zhejiang Committee of Political and Legislative Affairs, emphasized during his investigation tour in Pujiang from September 10 to 11 that the reform of the judicial system should be promoted steadily so that the legitimate rights and interests of the public could be fully guaranteed and social justice could be safeguarded.
Wang visited the local villagers and investigated the work of the resolution of the conflicts in rural areas, the establishment of village rules and villagers’ agreements and rules for self-governance by villagers as well as community corrections and legal assistance. He stressed that the legal services increasingly became a common necessity. In that case, issues in various areas such as law enforcement, jurisdiction and law popularization in grass-roots work should be thoroughly studied and solved, and legal workers should be organized and led to actively engage in public legal services. Besides, Wang also pointed out that social norms including village rules and villagers’ agreements and rules for self-governance by villagers, citizen pacts and industrial regulations should fully play their positive roles in social governance in order to constantly improve the legalization of grass-roots social governance.
