Zhejiang Promotes Three Year “Safe Haven” Action

On May 25, the provincial three-year action promotion meeting was held in Suichang to facilitate the comprehensive harnessing of the potential hazards related to geological disasters.
Che Jun, Secretary of the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee Secretary, and Yuan Jiajun, Acting Governor and Deputy Secretary of the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee, made instructions respectively, stressing that the precautions against geological disasters are related to people's lives and property, as well as economic and social harmony and stability.
Departments at all levels are expected to strictly stick to the people-oriented thought of development, and further promote the "moving, harnessing and precaution" more resolutely, effectively and solidly. The flood season we are in now and the potential threats from typhoons in both summer and autumn, in particular, have complicated the severeness of the situation. The harnessing of the hazards in the flood period should be consolidated to ensure that the mountains and rivers of Zhejiang bring about welfare, security and happiness to the people, in a bid to embrace the successful convening of the 19th National CPC Congress and the 14th CPC Zhejiang Provincial Representatives Congress with outstanding achievements.
This year, the province's three-year “Safe Haven” action to comprehensively harness the potential hazards related to geological disasters started well. The plan is to eliminate 1000 geological hazards. Up until now, 1584 projects have already been launched, of which 1029 are relocation projects, with 284 already finalized, and 578 are treatment projects, with 314 completed.
Vice Governor Sun Jingmiao attended the meeting and delivered a speech.
