Recently, the office of beautiful Zhejiang construction leading group has released a report of 2018 public satisfaction with ecological environment of our province. According to the report, 2018 public satisfaction with ecological environment of our city increased by 5.46% year-on-year, ranking the fourth in the province, one place higher than last year. It is our city’s highest ranking since the province conducted this survey in 2011.

The survey was carried out by the public opinion survey center of Zhejiang Provincial Bureau of Statistics entrusted by Zhejiang Ecological Environment Department. It mainly assesses public awareness of ecological construction, and public satisfaction with ecological environment, human settlement, pollution control effect, and eco-environmental protection. Survey results are as cities’ quantitative assessment of ecological construction. It is known that public satisfaction with ecological environment of our city improved every year in the past five years, with score jumping from 55.17 in 2013 to 85.2 in 2018.

It is the result of our city’s achievements made in the past years. Last year, our city’s air quality improved steadily, with a composite index of 4.02, up by 6.1% year-on-year; the average concentration of PM2.5 was 37μg/m³, dropping by 9.8% year-on-year; the proportion of low AQI days was 83.8%, up by 0.8% year-on-year. Moreover, water quality of our city has been improved greatly over the past years.

It is learned from a worker of Shaoxing Ecological Environment Bureau that our city publicizes more about eco-environmental protection, and forms a co-construction and sharing mechanism of environmental protection in which government, enterprises and the public all participate, supervise each other and interact positively with each other. As a result, public awareness of eco-environmental protection and public participation in constructing a beautiful Shaoxing will be improved.
