On the afternoon of September 18, Zhejiang Provincial Government and the National Bureau of Statistics signed a cooperation agreement in Beijing to build a statistical big data application center. Yuan Jiajun, governor of Zhejiang Provincial Government, and Ning Jizhe, director of the National Bureau of Statistics, signed the contract on behalf of both parties.

Guided by the promotion of the UN’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the Center is committed to building a big data application platform and a technology innovation center with cutting-edge technology, data sharing, and business exchanges, serving the cooperation of the global statistical community, serving the statistical reform and innovation and the building of modern statistical systems, and serving the improvement of the government governance. According to the agreement, the two sides will give full play to the professional advantages of the National Bureau of Statistics, fully rely on Zhejiang’s data advantages, technological advantages, industrial advantages and market advantages in promoting the “No. 1 Project” of the digital economy, integrate the existing resources, and focus on the effectiveness of application. In addition, the two sides will also explore a number of exemplary statistical big data application models, carry out a number of international statistical big data capacity-building projects, train a group of composite high-end talents for big data innovation, and thus promote the modernization of the governance systems and the governance capabilities.
