From July 30th to August 1st, Governor Yuan Jiajun led a delegation of Zhejiang Province to visit Tibet for the work of counterpart assistance.

As soon as they arrived, the delegation went straight to the Zhejiang Apartment in Lhasa to see the ninth group of aid cadres who had just entered Tibet. Under the direct care of Secretary Che Jun and Governor Yuan Jiajun, the Zhejiang Apartment in Lhasa was put into service in October 2017. Yuan Jiajun walked into the dormitory, carefully examined the living conditions of the aid cadres, and had a cordial conversation with them. He encouraged them stay true to their initial intentions and keep their mission in mind, vigorously carry forward the spirit of aiding Tibet, which is to “work hard in spite of oxygen deficit and hardship", and regard the support of Naqu County to win the fight against poverty as the top priority. The cadres should take Naqu as their second hometown, work hard and serve with dedication, and strive to be a bridge of cooperation between Zhejiang and Tibet, so as to inject more "Zhejiang power" into the snowy plateau.

During their stay in Tibet, the delegation, regardless of the high altitude anoxia, went to the Nagqu area with an average altitude of 4,500 meters, visited the poverty-stricken Tibetan Party members, and inspected the Nagqu Racecourse and the Poverty Alleviation Pilot Base of Qiangtang Animal Husbandry Industry to learn more about the project construction, economic benefits, and employment, etc.

On the afternoon of the 30th, the Zhejiang-Tibet Counterpart Assistance Symposium was held in Lhasa. On behalf of the Autonomous Regional Party Committee and Government, Wu Yingjie, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Tibet Autonomous Region, expressed his gratitude to Zhejiang for its long-standing support for Tibet. He hoped that Zhejiang will continue to attach importance to counterpart assistance and give Tibet financial, material, leadership and talent support in the areas of poverty alleviation, rural revitalization and industrial development. The Autonomous Region will further attach great importance to the aid work of Nagqu, care about the aid cadres from Zhejiang, and create favorable conditions for Zhejiang to assist Tibet.

Yuan Jiajun first conveyed the cordial greetings from Secretary Che Jun. He pointed out that, as an important frontier ethnic region of China, Tibet plays an important role in the historical process of building a well-off society in an all-round way and realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. Counterpart Aid is a major strategic plan of the Party Central Committee and a major political task that we must complete. Zhejiang will resolutely shoulder its political responsibilities and thoroughly implement the important exposition of General Secretary Xi Jinping on the stability Tibet. With the goal of a comprehensive well-off society, we will focus on precise poverty alleviation, do our best to aid the Tibetans and actively help Naqu out of poverty as scheduled. Guided by planning, we will comprehensively benchmark the Tibet aid plan in the "13th Five-Year Plan", promote the Tibet-aid plan for the "14th Five-Year Plan", further consolidate the poverty alleviation results in Biru County and Jiali County, and ensure that Seni District rids of its title of poor district by the end of this year. We will strengthen the platforms for Tibet aid, focus on agriculture, animal husbandry, and ethnic medicine, etc., and create an upgraded version of industrial aid for Tibet; We will accelerate the construction of a basic public service platform, focus on employment assistance, and continue to increase support for people's livelihood projects, especial in education aid, medical aid, transportation aid, and housing aid. We will strengthen institutional innovation, enhance the aid with a strong coordination mechanism, improve the quality of aid with a high standard of project operation mechanism, and enhance the aid with a sustainable aid mechanism, striving for more results and more highlights.
