On the morning of the 30th, the first plenary meeting of the 7th session of the Provincial Advisory Committee (PAC) was held in Hangzhou. Provincial Party Secretary Che Jun met with all members of the new advisory committee. Governor Yuan Jiajun spoke at the meeting and presented a letter of appointment to the leaders and members of the new advisory committee.

On behalf of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government, Che Jun expressed his congratulations to the PAC for the successful election, and extended greetings to the newly elected members. He pointed out that decision-making consultation is related to the overall situation of Zhejiang's reform and development. Over the years, the PAC has carried out investigations, research and consultations on the major decisions of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government, and has made positive contributions to the “two high-levels” construction of our province. It is hoped that the new PAC members will conscientiously implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's series of important expositions and instructions on building a new type of think tank with Chinese characteristics and establishing a sound decision-making consultation system, improve political standing, confirm political direction, serve the overall situation, strengthen self-improvement, and accelerate the construction of “high-quality think tanks” to provide important support for the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government in scientific and democratic decision-making. It is hoped that the members can locate the right research direction, improve research methods, raise research quality, and make more influential research results and policy suggestions to promote high-quality development, implement the national strategy of integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta, participate in the “Belt and Road” construction, and carry out the “three services” activities. The Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government will, as always, support the work of the PAC and create better conditions for them.

Yuan Jiajun pointed out that in the past six years, under the correct leadership of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government, the PAC has actively carried out decision-making consultation research around the center to serve the overall situation, and has done a lot of constructive work in building high-level think tanks, forming high-quality results, and improving high-performance systems. At present, our province is at a critical period of “two high levels” construction. It is hoped that the new PAC members will thoroughly study and implement Xi Jinping thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for the new era, closely focus on the overall goal of building a new type of think tank with Chinese characteristics and the "two high-levels" construction, and, facing the great change of the world, think deeply about the major issues in dealing with economic and trade frictions, stabilizing enterprises against risks, planning major innovative measures for reform and opening up, creating ecological civilization models, revitalizing rural areas, improving people's livelihood and cultural soft power, and constructing future communities, etc., so as to provide more high quality advice for the decision making of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government. It is hoped that they can actively plan for major events, seek special features and new measures, strengthen forward-looking research, collaborative research, and transformation of research results, and strive to be a good adviser for the high-quality development of Zhejiang in the new era.

Chen Jinyu was present at the meeting. Zhang Mengjin, former director of the PAC, made a work report, and Huang Xuming, the newly elected director of the PAC, delivered a speech. The current PAC consists of 64 members. Wang Xinhai, Feng Ming, Zhang Hongming, Shi Jinchuan, and Xia Aguo were elected deputy directors of the committee.
