On the morning of the 17th, the 2019 Zhejiang-Taiwan Cooperation Week opened in Hangzhou. The cooperation week was co-sponsored by the Zhejiang Provincial Government and the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, with the theme of “Sharing opportunities and integrating development”.

Guo Jinlong, Chairman on the Mainland Side of the Cross-Strait Entrepreneur Summit, Xiao Wanchang, Chairman on the Taiwan Side, Yuan Jiajun, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Governor, Pei Jijia, Deputy Director of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, and Li Zhenghong, President of the National Taiwan Enterprises Association, delivered a speech. Jiang Xiaoyan, former vice chairman of the Chinese Kuomintang, Wang Zhigang, Convenor of the Modern Service Industry and Cultural Creation Team in Taiwan, Wang Wenyuan, Chairman of the Taiwan Industrial Association, Lai Zhengyi, Chairman of the Taiwan Chamber of Commerce, and Lin Jun, Secretary General of the Mainland Side of the Cross-Strait Entrepreneur Summit attended the meeting. Zhou Jiangyong presided over the meeting.

Guo Jinlong said in his speech that the 2019 Zhejiang-Taiwan Cooperation Week is based on the theme of “Sharing opportunities and integrating development” and is in line with the peaceful development of cross-strait relations. It is in line with the common expectations of cross-strait entrepreneurs and will surely promote the deepening of Zhejiang-Taiwan economic and trade exchanges and cooperation. It is hoped that compatriots on both sides of the strait, especially entrepreneurs, will seize the opportunity of “Belt & Road” construction, focus on the needs of emerging industries, strengthen collaborative innovation, build a common market, accelerate integration and development, and deepen and strengthen the foundation of cross-strait peace and development. The Cross-Strait Entrepreneur Summit will give full play to the role of bridges and ties, provide a platform for exchanges and cooperation between entrepreneurs and young friends on both sides of the strait, and open up a new path and a new model for cross-strait integration and development.

Xiao Wanchang said that Taiwanese investment in Zhejiang has a superior environment and broad prospects. We would like to offer more support in all areas, especially in key areas of mart manufacturing, e-commerce, artificial intelligence, financial services, health care, cultural and creative design, film and television communication, and leisure and tourism. We look forward to further sincere cooperation and win-win development between the two places.

Yuan Jiajun said that Zhejiang and Taiwan should join hands to firmly consolidate the "cross-strait family" concept, actively promote the institutionalization of Zhejiang-Taiwan economic and trade cooperation, and comprehensively share new opportunities such as in the Yangtze River Delta integration development, a new round of opening and development, digital economy and industry upgrading. We will practically strengthen pragmatic cooperation in smart manufacturing, integrated circuits, biomedicine, modern agriculture, and eco-tourism. We will thoroughly implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions on Taiwan's work, continue to deepen the “Taiwanese investment" work, always uphold the concept that "serving the Taiwanese businessmen in Zhejiang is to serve Zhejiang businessmen", treat Taiwan compatriots equally and provide equal treatment for Taiwanese enterprises. We will further carry on the service activities and the activities of fulfilling the favorable policies for Taiwan, actively help Taiwan-funded enterprises to solve practical difficulties, so that Taiwanese businessmen and companies will have more sense of gain.

At the opening ceremony, the guests witnessed the report on the 2018 Cooperation Week projects and the signing of the 2019 new projects, and held a cross-strait industrial integration development forum. According to reports, during the current cooperation week, the province signed a total of 32 projects with a total investment of 4.58 billion US dollars.
