A marathon race for doctoral degree holders and high-level skilled workers kicked off in Shangyu district, Shaoxing, on May 4. The race is the first of its kind in China.

A total of 1,151 runners from China, the United States, France, Singapore and Malaysia participated in the event, with most of whom being doctoral degree holders and high-caliber skilled workers.

The race route connects many scenic spots and historical sites alongside, giving participants an opportunity to fully admire the beauty and specialty of Shangyu.

Officials from the Shangyu office for affairs of skilled workers said that they hope to introduce more high-level skilled workers to Shangyu to boost the high-quality development of the district.

In recent years, Shangyu has long been prioritizing its work to attract and nurture more high-caliber skilled workers.
