The CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee held a conference focusing on sustaining and enhancing the province's cultural strength in the provincial capital of Hangzhou on Aug 31.

Governor of Zhejiang Zheng Shanjie hosted the conference, while Yuan Jiajun, Party secretary of Zhejiang province, gave a keynote speech.

Yuan spoke highly of Zhejiang's previous achievements in bolstering its cultural influence and soft power.

Yuan noted that the development of culture plays a significant role in the province's drive for common prosperity, adding that Zhejiang should strive to be a high achiever in establishing deep thoughts, enriching people's minds, promoting societal harmony, creating cultural masterpieces, as well as spearheading cultural trends during the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) period.

Speakers at the conference also included officials from the Zhejiang Federation of Social Science Associations, the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, the Wenzhou municipal government, the Cixi government, as well as Hengdian Group.
